RESULTS 2025

Compliance with the Meat TAC in the Amazon

The disclosure of the results of Meat TAC audits allows for an objective assessment of whether slaughterhouses are complying with the terms of the conduct adjustment agreement to which they are signatories. Among several criteria, the agreement signed by slaughterhouses and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in some states stipulates that slaughterhouses must publish updated information on their supplier farms and must hire an independent auditor to analyze the compliance of their cattle purchases.

Some companies have disclosed the names and locations of their supplier farms in compliance with the requirements of the Meat TAC (Table 13).

Prosecutor’s Office and the Boi na Linha initiative, 2025.

The Radar Verde assessment also identified companies that conducted independent audits, as required by the Conduct Adjustment Agreement (Tables 14, 15, and 16). Figure 7 shows the spatial distribution of these companies.

The obligation to submit independent audits under the Meat TAC applies exclusively to signatory companies that the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office formally summons. Table 15 shows the meatpackers that, although not summoned, chose to hire independent auditors and publicly disclose their results.

There are also companies that, although they have been summoned or have a significant slaughter volume, have not submitted an independent audit; in these cases, the assessment was conducted through an automatic audit. The list of these companies is shown in Table 16 below.
